About
Welcome to Browns at the Quay, a charming dining destination nestled at 24 Quay St, Worcester WR1 2JJ, United Kingdom. This riverside haven presents an exquisite blend of culinary delight and scenic beauty, making it a perfect setting for memorable occasions. With a reputation for superb service and delectable cuisine, Browns is more than just a restaurant; it’s an experience worth savoring.
As I explored Browns at the Quay, I was captivated not only by the picturesque views of the river but also by the palpable enthusiasm of the young team of waiters and waitresses. Their attentive nature was consistently highlighted by guests, such as Ian Fletcher, who praised the team for making his father-in-law's 85th birthday celebration a truly special affair with a delicious three-course meal and outstanding hospitality.
Walking through the doors, the delightful aroma of home-cooked dishes instantly draws you in. Guests have raved about their meals, from the refined taste of Chateaubriand to the tempting desserts that finish the experience on a sweet note. TC couldn’t help but share their joy after indulging in a Tuesday evening feast, where they enjoyed a 50% off a-la-carte menu, paired perfectly with two glasses of “Browns Champagne.” Such offers highlight the establishment’s commitment to sharing fantastic dining experiences at an affordable price.
As a reviewer, I couldn’t help but appreciate the diversity of the offerings, which cater to various palates. The breakfasts, in particular, are a highlight, with guests like Jean R recommending the starter and main for breakfast, a perfect way to kickstart your day while enjoying stunning river views. However, it’s important to note the limited evening service on Sundays, ensuring guests plan accordingly.
While most reviews celebrate the superb quality of food and service, F Cavens did highlight an area for improvement regarding the service during brunch. Nevertheless, the overall consensus remains that Browns at the Quay is a lovely restaurant with exceptional cuisine that’s worth a visit.
In closing, Browns at the Quay stands out not just for its food but for its ambiance, service, and the wonderful stories it helps create. Whether you’re planning a special celebration or a casual dining outing, this restaurant is ready to welcome you with open arms and a tantalizing menu. Don’t miss your chance to enjoy a meal at this delightful location—you may find yourself planning your next visit before you even leave!
“ Booked for my father in laws 85th birthday, superb 3 course meal. Every element was delicious . The service was excellent, the young team of waiters/waitresses were so attentive and polite. It was one of the nicest dining experiences I have had. Looking forward to a future visit. Many thanks to all at Browns ”
“ We had a very nice overnight stay here. The room was very good and had an excellent view overlooking the river. The service and breakfast in the morning were excellent, I recommend having the starter and main for breakfast! The only small point I would make was that we stayed on a Sunday evening and there is no food service after 4 or 4.30 pm and the bar was closed by 7.45pm which we hadn't realised when booking. This did not spoil our stay because the information book in our room guided us towards good places to eat and drink, which were not too far away. I would recommend staying here, and the river walk is a must. ”
“ Went for a bottomless brunch , food was lovely, service not great really waitresses didn’t really smile at all came across moody and unhelpful and we was inconvenience , you had to wait for everyone around the table to finish there drink before you could order another !, then it took forever for them to come , not a bottomless in my opinion. Apart from that lovely restaurant, lovely food . ”
“ Amazing experience! Service was impeccable from the start. Lovely chap on Reception gave us an upgraded room which was really special. Great views of the river. Food and service were faultless and breakfast was the same. We will be looking at another stay here in the future. ”
“ Just had a great Tuesday evening meal here. It happens to be 50% off all the a-la-carte menu. We stared with 2 glasses of “Browns Champagne” Then had Chateaubriand for 2 followed by a selection of small taster deserts. The food was excellent and the service was excellent too. So we left very happy and would highly recommend it to everyone ”
“ Fabulous location, ideally situated for a drink, light bite or lunch / dinner by the river. I visited on a lovely sunny day and it was blissful. The mocktail I had was very refreshing and the chips were scrummy too. Service was attentive. I’d definitely come back. ”
“ We visited for a mid week break to celebrate our 59th Wedding Anniversary. Excellent staff, accommodation and food quality. Superb location, beautiful view of swans gliding along on the river outside. Met very generous family owners who helped us to celebrate!! Overall impression is of a very friendly ambience at this hotel, young staff very smartly dressed and courteous. Will definitely return. ”
“ This was our second visit at Browns at the quay. We didn't think they could top last time but they surpassed themselves. We were given the penthouse apartment with 2 bedrooms and bathrooms, lounge and kitchen! The evening meal was stunning and the breakfast amazing as usual, with plenty of choice. The staff here are so accomodating, warm and friendly. The main man who greeted us was so lovely and upgraded us to the penthouse suite, we didn't get his name. Our waiter last night was a lovely young man and this morning our beautiful breakfast was served by the lovely Jodie. One of the nicest waitresses we have ever come across, going above and beyond. We would recommend this amazing place to anyone who likes the nicer things in life. ”
